OUR BELIEFS

The Holy Bible

The Holy Bible IS THE WORD OF GOD. It is the written revelation of God, of His acts, His character, and His purposes. It does not become the word of God, nor does it contain the word of God. It was written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit through human authors. The Bible as the Word of God is our only form of faith and conduct, as it is sufficient, complete, and true. It has all authority in all areas of human life and conduct. The 39 books of the O.T. plus the 27 of the N.T. make up the Bible, nothing more and nothing less.

God

There is a living and true God who is the creator of everything, sustainer of the universe, and rules all things. His name is JHWV and is known as Jehovah, Yahweh, or Adonai. He is one and unique, exists by Himself, and is infinite in His being and attributes. He is unchangeable, immortal, immense, eternal, and holy in the most absolute sense. God executes all things according to His just will and for His own glory. He is the eternal God and exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These exist without division of nature or being and in all divine perfection. Each of the three persons possesses the total sum of the divine essence. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are three modes or forms of existence of the divine being. We believe what the Bible says about the function of each one: the Father reveals Himself as Creator, the Son as Redeemer, and the Holy Spirit as Comforter and guide of the Church. However, all three are present in every divine act. We believe that God the Creator becomes the Father of every person who believes and receives Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord. (John 1:12) Jehovah, God the Father orders and directs all things; according to His purpose, pleasure, and grace. All for our good and for His glory. He listens and answers prayers and saves from sin and death anyone who comes to Him through His Son Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the second person of the Trinity who came to assume our human nature but free from sin. He was fully God and fully man. God accompanied Jesus' mission with wonders, miracles, and signs. We believe in His virgin conception by the Holy Spirit. He lived in obedience to the Father, in holiness and righteousness, and died for our sins for our redemption. He rose again and ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father interceding for His church. He is the head of the church. We believe that one day Jesus Christ will return and raise His Church to bring it to the glory of God.

Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Third person of the Trinity. He is a personal being who possesses feelings, intelligence, and will. The Holy Spirit preserves creation and convinces the world of sin and its need for Christ. He has the ability to speak, search, testify, command, dispute, and intercede. We believe that He regenerates, seals, baptizes, and sets the believer apart for a holy life. He is our counselor, advocate, and aid. The Holy Spirit has the mission of completing the work of creation and redemption. He is also the engine of the church to which He gives gifts, ministries, and fruits.

Salvation

We believe that the salvation of the sinner can only be possible through the grace of God, faith in Jesus, and genuine repentance for sin. We believe what the Bible says that salvation is not based on man's work or his own deeds, only in Jesus Christ through whom we receive redemption, forgiveness, and restoration. We believe that the Holy Spirit is the one who applies salvation to man. In it, we find the following elements: Calling, regeneration, conversion, repentance, faith, and justification.

Family and Society

We believe that God established the family as a fundamental institution of human society. We believe that marriage is the indissoluble unity between a MAN AND A WOMAN, that is, a lifelong covenant commitment before God and men. We believe that society is an expression of the family institution, and authorities in it are appointed by God for its service. God commands us to obey, respect, and pray for them. We believe that God in His grace has sent the Holy Spirit to protect human society by restraining sin. We believe what the Bible teaches about the separation between state and church. Therefore, the state owes the church protection and complete freedom in the development of its functions and spiritual purposes, respecting its right to form or propagate its own opinions in the religious field without interference by civil power.

The Church

We believe that every person who puts their faith in Jesus in a sincere attitude of repentance and is regenerated must be baptized by immersion in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit to be a member of the Church of Christ (a spiritually living body of which Christ is the head). We believe that God calls us as believers to live together in community, with the purpose of supporting, building up, and maturing with each other to be used in the extension of the Kingdom of God.
